Oiskohan tähän ideaa valita/pyytää edustajaa joka virallisesti edustaa AFIa? Varmaan olis hyvä myös olla oma "sihteeri" JOS siellä on jotain oikeasti kiinnostavaa ideaa?

Bummeri edustaa AFIa ja pyrin itsekkin tulemaan paikalle. Taitaa olla tarkoituksena kartoittaa mitä muita yhteisöjä kiinnostaisi pelata tulevaisuudessa jne.

Meeting summary:

We had representatives from Anrop,SSG,AFU,UO and Armaworld at the meeting.

We discussed some previous joint events. People had enjoyed different kinds of events: the more classical larger TVT-events and the more experimental role-play events. Events could implement ideas in varying degree and this variety could lead to longevity. It was stated that the experimental one would need refinement but was onto something. Max told that he could provide some useful insight into future COIN type events.

Several issues were mentioned in relation to organizing these events between different communities. Making a modset for events is problematic since communities use different configurations and different ways of distributing them. Finding a common date that fits all communities is problematic since communities have different schedules. Communities may be used to different play-styles and finding common ground may be hard. It was also mentioned that there is an common misconception that events have to be large to be worth organizing.

To help with these issues we talked about different solutions. Using a common template that would help with finding a common ground. Limiting the amount of mods to the bare essential that would fulfill the mission makers needs. Using mainly mods that are distributed on steam workshop to help with differing versions and distribution platforms. Providing backup links for mods. Making certain clientside mods always accepted would help with fitting different play-styles together. A possibility for a common mod repository was discussed. Possibilities for organizing smaller and/or more unorthodox themed events was also discussed.

It was also mentioned that learning could be of assistance in solving or alleviating some of the issues. The more people play and organize events in different circumstances they learn new things and are more prepared for the next new thing. Learning could be also a mutually beneficial outcome of the whole collaboration. We could even intentionally share some tips/mods/scripts regarding the collaboration on planned occasions.

It was also discussed that a possible way of dealing with the organizational issues would be to have communities pitch their event ideas to other communities to get some feedback on how the organizational issues mentioned before could be solved and an enjoyable event had. I made a point that I was especially looking forward to hearing and seeing what event ideas people had in mind.

We identified some European communities that we decided to try and contact to join our discord. We briefly discussed geographical and language issues. A somewhat limiting factor with American players is that the timezone is so different. Games can however be organized with on weekends when they are able to attend during the morning/day. Language barrier with the russians was seen as an issue. Language and timezone issues appear smaller in European countries.

In the next meeting I hope to discuss some of the point in more detail. I hope that we can get a few events under our belt and gain some new insight into these issues by then.

Me and Furean will be pitching our "classical" TVT event shortly. I hope we can find interested collaborators and solve most of the issues for that particular event and play it soonish.
